Target Audience and Audience Opinions (Preliminary Task)

Target Audience:
My research allowed me to really find out who my target audience would be, obviously it’s aimed at those between 16-18 and both male and females, but it allowed me to see what my target audience were really interested in and how i could fit each bit into the magazine.
Audience Research:
My research allowed me to change the things I was planning to put in the magazine. For example I was going to put sections for specific lessons but after conducting the research I found that, from the people I interviewed at least, would prefer a generalised set of revision aids rather than small sections aimed at specific lessons because on occasion it would not relate to them and therefore would be a useless section.
It also allowed me to get viewer opinion on whether I should have written my magazine in a ‘younger ‘ voice with more slang or whether I should keep it separated from those I would be aiming at and keep it almost like GQ, in the sense that i would keep it written in an unattached more civilised manner. They seemed to like the idea of keeping it from being a "teen mag" because by using slang it would have lost contact with a lot of students, mainly because they themselves don’t speak using slang and they would find it demeaning to be spoken at in such a manner.
